The show started with colored printed dresses in shots of red and blue, orange and yellow, inspired by Sicily’s street puppet theatrics. The catwalk continued with stripes in black and white, green and white and red with white, to move the scene more to summer and beaches. The prints were mixed with stripes to evoke the beach umbrellas and sunbeds.While some outfits had plunging "V" necklines, most were crew another trend this season, along with the flower motif that appeared here as well.The blues, greens and pinks melted into creams, golds and browns with loose dresses bearing the slogan "Sicily" made of straw, as well as fitted ones in rough printed cotton adorned with buttons, gems or gold brocade.
The accessories were a blast too. Chandelier Earrings in the shape of Sicilian puppets and bags like little bucket styles. The shoes were to die for! Barrow-shaped sculpted sandals, flat and high-heeled midollino sandals.The end of the show was fabulous as expected. Dolce & Gabbana sent out series of raffia corsets, and then an entire ball gown frame. The ending brought back the printed cotton bathing suits very 50’s and sophisticated...
